It was an usual day unless Mahesh received a call from his friend, who invited him for his wedding near Munnar. As we both were tired from our regular work and responsibilities, we decided to visit Munnar.
The big deal here was a trip to Munnar from Bangalore with our car 'Vista', so that we can attend the wedding and have a trip to Munnar.
Friday, early morning 6.A.M, we switched on the navigation and left home with water bottles, fruits, biscuits, and with the complete details of routes and hotels.
We had breakfast @ 8.30 A.M in the Kamat hotel located between Hosur and Krishnagiri highway and reached Salem by 12.30 P.M. We finished lunch in a hotel on the highway, took Avinashi route and reached Udumalpettai by 2.30 P.M.

We wished the newly married couple and took the way to Munnar with the intention of reaching the destination by evening. It was a breathtaking experience for me when Mahesh was driving all the way in the hilly region.
One important point is, on the way from udumalpettai to Munnar, there are four checkpost (two from Tamil nadu and two from Kerala), whcih means 20/- each to be paid in every checkpost (no reciept).

Munnar is a small town where three small rivers meet together and hence it is known as Munnar. We were lucky enough to be in the perfect season. Monsoon was over and was waiting for the seasonal rain. There used to be light drizzling for few minutes and then the sun used to shadow us with his light. It was an awesome experience to touch the clouds at the hill top with the lush green all around. yes, it is true, there could not be any second thought when people say " Kerala is god's own country".
Fine let's come back to our trip information. After reaching Munnar by 6.P.M we were almost like walking in the clouds. The entire town was completely covered with mist and was becoming dark. We were supposed to go 20 km further to the Aruvi resort, which we had booked. Because of the mist and the drizzling rain, we lost our way and we were back to munnar town by 7.30 P.M. With no energy to go further, we booked a room in the Green Ridge hotel. The hotel was descent and good. since it was an off-season we bargained the room tariff from 3600/- to 1800/- for a single night. Got-up early in the morning, had the complementary breakfast and went out for sight seeing.
We hired a guide cum driver for 400 rupees, named Vinayak (phone no - 09447876850), whom we met on the roadside. He was a good person and smart enough to cover all the tourist spots in just four hours. Gained knowledge about black, green and white tea by visiting the TATA tea factory. After visiting all the places and finishing lunch by 3.P.M, we took the Aaruvi resort route that we had missed previous night. Some how with the help of GPS and the resort contact person, reached the resort.
Overall I would like to say that our trip to Munnar was physically stressful but mentally relaxing. A very pleasant trip to the glorious, beautiful and romantic place.

The resort is located near a beautiful water fall. It was a very nice place for us to spend that evening.
People were good over there and the food was also tasty. The only drawback is the resort is 20 km far from Munnar town.
We were all set early in the morning to travel to Bangalore. We did breakfast and left the resort by 8 A.M. towards Bangalore. Reached Salem by 3.P.M thinking that we will reach Bangalore by 7.30 P.M, but the heavy rainfall from Krishnagiri and the slowing process at the tollgates reduced our speed and finally we reached home by 9.30 P.M.
